"Gynecological diseases" refers to those diseases that require surgical treatment, such as uterine dilation and curettage, as well as diseases involving female reproductive organs, such as vagina, uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, breasts, appendages around the reproductive system and pelvis. bottom, and all need to be certified by a qualified doctor. Under the law, women are entitled to special leave if they suffer from gynecological conditions that require surgical treatment. This means they can ask their employer for a period of paid leave to fully recover. Special leave can last up to two months, giving women enough time to cope with the recovery process after surgery.



To receive special leave, women need to meet a few conditions:
1. They must have worked continuously for at least six months in the past 12 months.
2. They need to submit a request for special leave to their employer before the expected date of surgery.
3. They must provide a doctor's note confirming the need for surgery.





















This special leave benefit is enacted in accordance with Republic of the Philippines Act 9710 Magna Carta of Women to protect the health and welfare of women when facing gynecological diseases. This benefit is borne by the employer and is separate from the Philippine Social Security System (SSS) sickness benefit.

 

For women with gynecological diseases, special leave is an important right, providing them with the time and space they need to recover and conveying care for women's health.
